“According to Abbey”, an enchanting children’s book written and illustrated by Douglassville residents, launches into publication on July 2, 2005.

A wonderful, melodic children’s book titled “According to Abbey” written by Cyndi L. Trombley, will be released for publication this weekend. Cyndi’s first book, “Nathan’s Wish” launched into publication last year on an episode of TLC’s A Makeover Story. The Illustrator of her latest book, Linda E. Kleinert, is also from Douglassville and the team is thrilled to see their first children’s book together come to print.

An enchanting story, “According to Abbey” was inspired by the author’s 4 year old daughter and her own unique perception of everyday life. “According to Abbey” introduces children to the use of opposites, initiates parent-child interaction through a Hide and Seek game within each illustration, and maybe most importantly, the moral of the story which suggests that each day spent with your child is a gift that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

On Thursday evening, July 7th at Lake Drive in Douglassville, the Author/Illustrator will be hosting a Family Fun Book Signing and Sale. There will be face painting and guests will have full access to the playground, basketball and tennis courts and baseball fields. This event is open to the public and will be taking place from 6:00 – 9:00. Autographed copies of the book will be on sale for $12.00.

Although the author/illustrator team both lived in the same town of Hatboro years prior, it took a soccer team and the small town of Douglassville to bring the team together. “Cyndi and I were brought together by chance, our friendship sealed by never ending coincidences, and our business partnership blossomed from there” Kleinert reports. For their next book, Kleinert and Trombley are developing plans for a story geared towards special needs children, inspired by Kleinert’s youngest son.
