Book circulated in family before publication
From our news staff

Cyndi Trombley of Douglassville wrote
“Nathan's Wish” about 13 years ago, before she became a mother to Jacob, 6, and
Abigail, 3.
“The story was inspired by
my niece, Kimberlie (Rosen of North Wales, Montgomery County),” Trombley said.
“She was 3 at the time, and I spent a lot of time with her.”
The children's story is
about a little boy named Nathan. While helping his dad mow the lawn, he finds a
“wishy” a dandelion that has gone to seed.
His dad tells him to mow
over the weed, but Nathan has different plans. He blows on the wishy and wishes
for a thousand more wishes. When the family comes home from vacation, the lawn
is covered with wishies.
“So the book is a little
bit about how a parent and a child can look at the exact same thing and see
something completely different,” Trombley said.
Trombley wrote the book on
loose-leaf paper and gave it to family and friends to read to their children.
“I wanted to publish the
book to replace the weather-beaten copies,” she said.
The self-published book
(Trafford, $13.95) can be purchased online by visiting www.nathanswish.com.
Trombley is also available for book readings and signings.
